10th Annual Sarah Adames Memorial Cancer Ride

Date: Saturday September 15, 2018

Time: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Sarah is the daughter of James Adames, the Jr. Past State President of the American Legion Riders Department of California.  Sarah was 24 when she passed away from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on May 7, 2009.

If the Adames family did not suffer enough from Sarah´s death their son James Andrew died in a tragic motorcycle accident on June 2, 2009.  Both of these young people died within 26 days of each other.

Needles to say their deaths in such a short time caused the Adames family much heartache and sorrow.  James wanted to honor their passing by organizing a motorcycle ride to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Each year since 2009 around James Andrew´s birthday September 18th the ride is held.  James Andrew loved to ride his motorcycle and often talked about one day riding together with his father to the Sturgis South Dakota Rally.

The Adames family wants to help ease the burden and pain that is caused by cancer.  The American Cancer Society is a great organization that has thus far received just over $31,000 in Sarah´s name from the American Legion Riders and the attendees of this annual event over the past 9 years.

Please join us for the 10th Annual Sarah Adames Memorial Cancer Ride.  Though the proceeds will goo to the American Cancer Society in Sarah´s name the benefit will go in everyone´s name who has succumbed or survived this dreaded disease.

American Legion Riders Chapter 43 is proud to host this years ride on Saturday September 15th.  The Hollywood American Legion is located at 2035 North Highland Avenune, Hollywood, California, 90068.  Registration will be from 8 AM to 10 AM.  There will be a blessing of the bikes at 10 AM and the ride will begin at 10:15 AM.  If you have questions please email Ronnie@post43.org for more information.  Cost of the ride is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger.
